BIOGRAPHY


Jerry, a music composer and producer from Xi'an, China, is pursuing undergraduate degrees in Music for New Media and Music Education at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. His combination of musical talent and teaching skills renders him a multifaceted and passionate musician. Presently, he is engaged in creating film orchestral arrangements and collaborating with ensembles to bring his compositions to life through live performances.

Having started learning piano at age six, Jerry is committed to blending diverse musical genres into his compositions, including classical, jazz, rock, and Chinese pentatonic. In 2020, he released his debut album featuring 17 original pieces. Jerry is on a promising trajectory towards establishing a lifelong career as a composer in the film and gaming industries. Beyond composition, he had extensive voluntary and teaching experience with children from varied backgrounds. His teaching repertoire encompasses music theory, composition, and English.

Jerry firmly believes that the role of artists extends beyond mastery in their field; it involves leveraging their artistic skills to enhance the world around them. This conviction drives his dual pursuit as a composer and educator, aiming to spread his knowledge widely and leverage the power of music to influence others. He advocates for music as a medium that transcends language barriers and fosters unity among diverse ethnicities.

Currently, Jerry is actively seeking collaborative opportunities with filmmakers to broaden his network and gain practical experience, thereby showcasing his abilities and adapting to the dynamic demands of the industry.
